It was critical for the design of the Kew Project to incorporate the three elements most important to our clients: family, entertaining and relaxation. With three early teenage children still living at home there was a need to create space for all with the opportunity for the family to spend time both together and apart.

The inclusion of a swimming pool was to play a central role in the new garden design, providing the stage for contemporary details that give the space interest with unique twists on common features. These include a slotted feature wall behind the sun bathing area, a polished concrete block that runs into the swimming pool and a mosaic tiled feature wall that adds glamour and style to the garden.

An existing patio extends the interior living spaces outdoors, and the swimming pool is elevated to one step below patio height to deal with the level changes that exist on the block. While countering the level issue, raising the pool also brings it into closer context with the house creating view lines across the water that can be enjoyed from the kitchen (the hub of the home) and the interior living spaces.

Enkipools are extremely proud of the design and construct aspect of this project, and the success we have achieved in the finished product. Conducting the process in house coordinating the design, construction and installation of the garden and swimming pool has meant we have been able to overcome obstacles quickly and professionally.
